Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
Faith Ubus Foundation ("Faith Ubus Foundation", "we", "us", or "our") is a non-profit organisation serving children, widows, the elderly, and underserved communities in Lagos and Delta State, Nigeria. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and other applicable Nigerian law.
This policy applies to our website at www.faithubusfoundation.org and to the personal information you share with us directly.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you contact us or support our work, you may choose to share personal details with us. This can include:
- Your name and the content of your message when you email us or reach out on WhatsApp or social media;
- Your email address or phone number, if you provide it so we can reply;
- Details relating to a donation: for example, when you make a bank transfer, your bank includes your name (and, in the transfer record, your originating account) so we can acknowledge your gift;
- Information you share when arranging an item drop-off or partnership.
We do not collect card or payment-card details on this website. Donations are made by direct bank transfer through your own bank, and we never see or store your card information, PIN, or online-banking password.
Information collected automatically
Our website itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking tools (there is no Google Analytics, advertising pixel, or similar). Because of this, the site does not need a cookie-consent banner. Two standard technical points still apply:
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically keep basic technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit, for security and to keep the site running. These are standard for any website.
- Web fonts: the site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your device may contact Google's servers to fetch them. Google may receive your IP address as part of this normal request.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you share only for legitimate, charitable purposes, including to:
- respond to your questions, messages, and partnership enquiries;
- acknowledge and keep proper records of donations;
- coordinate item drop-offs, outreaches, and community programmes;
- keep you updated about our work if you have asked us to; and
- comply with our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Cookies and tracking
We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics on this website. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, ask for your consent first.
4. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information only where necessary:
- with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example our bank and our website host), strictly to provide their service;
- where we are required to do so by law, regulation, or a valid request from a public authority; or
- to protect the rights, safety, and property of the Foundation, our beneficiaries, or others.
5. How we protect your information
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to keep your information safe and to limit access to those who need it for our work. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required to meet our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your personal data, where we are not legally required to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your data; and
- withdraw any consent you previously gave, at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with the NDPA. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8. Children
Children are among the beneficiaries we serve, and we handle any information about them with particular care. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the site. Where a child's information is shared with us (for example by a parent or guardian in connection with our programmes), we handle it responsibly and only for the purpose it was given.
9. Links to other websites
Our site links to external platforms such as our Facebook and Instagram pages, and to WhatsApp. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing information there.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
